ArrayIt® offers an innovative microplate microarray hardware system allowing 96-well formatted experimentation with either four glass substrate slides or a single glass microplate. The system consists of hardware and a gasket that “sandwich” four glass substrate slides (shown above) or one glass microplate (scroll down) between the upper and lower hardware portions, and the exact 96-well registration allows the use of liquid handlers and automated pipetting of samples directly onto 96 microarrays simultaneously for high-throughput DNA and protein microarray applications in research and diagnostics.

Product Description
Now the best microarray glass and surface chemistries are available in a 96 well microarray format. These substrates can be used with the NanoPrint Microarrayer, 946 Spotting Device which are easily configured for high throughput manufacturing in the 96 well format. Theses tools empower over 1,000 spots per each 96 well subarray.

  • SuperClean substrates are untreated and are delivered ready to use for custom surface chemistry preparation applications. This superior glass is cut to precision dimensions and polished to atomic smoothness (50 Å over 76 mm) to provide the most homogenous surface available in industry.  SuperClean Microarray Substrates have an average smoothness of 2.0 nm or 20 angstroms, which corresponds to approximately 10 silicon dioxide bonds.
  • SuperAmine chemistry is used to immobilized unmodified long oligos and cDNA’s for gene expression microarrays.
  • SuperAldehyde is used to immobilized amino modified oligos, amino modified cDNA, proteins, cells, lysates, tissues, etc. This surface is specifically useful in immobilizing short oligos for SNP detection microarrays.  SuperAldehyde has been used in many protein microarray applications.
  • SuperEpoxy chemistry is great for protein microarrays.  It is also an excellent surface to immobilize cells, tissues, and carbohydrates.

The glass used for these substrates has been especially manufactured exclusively for this application. This is highly polished glass to create superior homogeneity. Glass substrates of this optical quality are routinely sold at $300 dollars each by some vendors in industry.

 Microarray 96-well hardware system (Catalog ID MMH4x24) that holds four standard 25 x 76 mm glass microarray substrate slides. Four substrate slides are seated in the bottom portion of the hardware and the top portion with a 96-well formatted gasket seals the individual wells. This is an excellent system for users wishing to maintain the standard microarray substrate slide format while leveraging the high-throughput 96-well liquid handling format.

Microplate Printing:
The Microplate Microarray Hardware provides 96 separate wells for microarrays on a single glass microplate in the standard 8 x 12 configuration at 9 mm centers. The polished atomically flat glass  plates are treated with our advanced surface chemistries and are  detachable from the chamber for superior printing and scanning flexibility. Each printable location is 7.7 mm x 7.7 mm for maximum  printability and is compatible with all robotic liquid handling  systems. Using standard 150 µm spot spacing, each of the 96 locations accommodates up to 2,500 printed spots for a total of 240,000 spots per 96-well microplate.
