Dr. Schena to Chair Chips to Hits 2004 Microarray Workshop.
Sunnyvale, CA, September 10, 2004 – TeleChem International, Inc. Visiting Scholar Dr. Mark Schena will chair the Chips to Hits® 2004 microarray course to be held at the Seaport World Trade Center on September 20-23, 2004 in Boston, Massachusetts. The Chips to Hits® conference sponsored by IBC is the 11th annual meeting, and represents the largest and most comprehensive microarray and microtechnology conference in the world, with over 1,500 attendees and more than 100 exhibitor booths. The world’s top authorities from academia and industry will gather to present talks and posters, exchange information, and strategize to advance the scientific and business forefronts of biology’s hottest field. The scientific, commercial, legal and regulatory issues surrounding microarrays and microfluidic devices will be hotly debated at this exclusive annual event.
Dr. Schena has served on the Chips to Hits® Scientific Advisory and Organizing Board since 1999, and has organized and chaired the microarray conference for the past three years. This year’s microarray workshop “Mark Schena’s Microarray Course” will be held from 8:30-11:30 AM on Monday September 20, 2004. TeleChem’s ArrayIt® Division is co-sponsoring the workshop event. The first 100 workshop attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Dr. Schena’s Microarray Analysis textbook published by J. Wiley & Sons. Dr. Schena offered these comments about the meeting and course. “Derek has done a tremendous job over the years making Chips to Hits® the premiere microarray conference in the world. I am thrilled to be involved again this year and it is a great honor to chair the workshop that bears my name. This year is going to be a terrific show. Because the field is moving so rapidly, we have invited experts in key areas of microarray research to present workshop talks. I think the workshop will provide an excellent foundation for the rest of the meeting. I look forward to seeing everyone is Boston.”
